Michele and Jim Hoben are not your average restaurant owners. They traveled widely throughout their early 20’s Returning to Boston they continued to work in some of the finest restaurants in the city, and even some of the sketchiest bars. They sought out examples of true hospitality wherever he found them. Inside every kitchen they worked, whether the food was Italian, French, or Mediterranean, they noted that the cooks in these restaurants were typically Hispanic. With an affinity towards their culture and attitude, Michele and Jim decided that they should open a Mexican-style Taqueria in ‘98 where the cooks could serve the food they grew up with at home. At El Pelon Taqueria they fashioned a place where his staff could work as a team to serve their customers, community and neighbors. Today, both Michele and Jim continues that deep commitment to service, working with nonprofits and children's groups. One of the deepest priorities of the staff at El Pelon is to carry out that same level of service and genuine hospitality to its customers.

Accomplisments:
We have been noted as the Best of Boston in the past years and the Dig nominated us as Boston's best Burrito 2013. There are many others but we continue to do business on how well we are doing today and not how well we have done in the past. We love what we do and do it everyday because we wan to :)
