We’ve toured the country, from Boise to Boston, Dallas to DC, uncovering the hottest startups in more than 25 cities. Now we need your help to find the hottest in the nation. Join us at Tech Cocktail Celebrate, our national startup competition and conference. Tickets go on sale June 10, 2013 at 10am Pacific.

I’m very excited to announce our newest event, Tech Cocktail Celebrate. We’ll be holding a startup competition and conference here in Downtown Las Vegas, Nevada, on October 23rd-25th. We’ve been holding regional startup showcases across the country, from Boise to Boston, Dallas to DC, uncovering the hottest startups in more than 25 cities. The winners of each of those regional events will qualify to come to Las Vegas, where they can gain exposure to a HUGE audience of influencers, media, and investors. They’ll be vying for investment and the Tech Cocktail Chalice. Additionally, we’ll be inviting some top-notch speakers to share experiences from their entrepreneurial journey.

Tickets for Tech Cocktail Celebrate will be on sale Monday, June 10th, 2013, at 10:00 am Pacific Time for an early-bird price of $99 for a very limited time. We’re also excited to announce a partnership with the Life is Beautiful Festival (music, arts, culinary, and learning) that’s happening in Downtown Las Vegas on October 26th-27th (right after Tech Cocktail Celebrate). There will be headlining acts like The Kings of Leon, The Killers, and Beck. You’ll have the option of buying a ticket to both Tech Cocktail Celebrate AND Life is Beautiful for only $199. That’s 4 days of awesomeness – so get your tickets as soon as they go on sale, before the prices go up.

This is an exciting next chapter in the life of Tech Cocktail. We’ve been hosting startup showcases across the country since 2006, when we did our first event in Chicago. We’ve always wanted to turn our series of events across the country into more of an “American Idol for startups.” It’s amazing to be able to finally make that happen.

There are many opportunities to get involved in Tech Cocktail Celebrate. Are you interested in having your startup at Tech Cocktail Celebrate? You still have a chance. Apply to showcase at one of our regional events (and if you don’t see a city near you, check back frequently as we’ll be adding more cities!). If you win either the reader’s choice poll or best pitch at the event, you automatically qualify for Tech Cocktail Celebrate. There’ll also be plenty of sponsorship opportunities. You’d have to win either the reader’s choice poll for hottest showcasing startup or best pitch at our regional Tech Cocktail Startup Showcase & Mixer.

Q: Is it possible to apply to demo/pitch at Tech Cocktail Celebrate?

It is not possible to apply to demo/pitch at Tech Cocktail Celebrate. You’d apply for Tech Cocktail’s regional startup showcase & mixers. If you win those, you’ll qualify for the event! Check out our schedule of regional events and keep an eye on it. We’ll be adding more events.

Q: What qualifies a startup to showcase at a Tech Cocktail Startup Showcase & Mixer?

Startups must…

Be fewer than 3 years old
Have raised less than $1MM in funding
Be an independent company (no subsidiaries)
Startups must have a working beta or better product.

Q: I won a regional Tech Cocktail event. What does that mean?

If you won either the reader’s choice poll for hottest showcasing startup or best pitch at one of our Tech Cocktail Startup Showcase & Mixers, you’re qualified to participate in our Tech Cocktail Celebrate startup competition & conference. Of all the winners, our editorial team will decide who will be pitching on stage and who will be in the demo pit.
